World seems fondly smaller it can be when we walk around with artworks in this present time 19th century decade. Walk in gallery to see artwork is like uncover new pages to self-knowledge of what’s other things I have never seen. As gay person, walk in gallery and looking around at the artwork, wonders what artworks do to me, am I seeing the way others also equally seeing or it’s just a complete whole different aspect of looking at painting or artworks. In bits and bits of my question comes to mind, “How do you feel when you are looking at the painting? “
What is art? It is subjective to many people not just me, writing this in metaphorically could be contrast to general view of art. Art has been a form of medium for artist to communicate within void subjectively for them to free their expression with wonderful discoveries of skills and technique. Adopted from ‘What is art?” Joseph Beuys by Volker Harlan, Beauys: Yes, of himself and his surroundings, that’s right. I don’t think it can be expressed any more simply or truly. This conversation was shared between Beuys and Volker in explaining what drive Beuys making art. Yes, he said him and his surroundings are the spiritual factor in contributing how art is born said by renowned Fluxus member. One of the cause of every artist would feel the same reason of making art. In context of Kuala Lumpur or Asia region, unfortunately generally art is being capitalized by art institution as the primary tool of culture and human communication between materiality and spiritual journey. Nevertheless art is conceived by society as third party or class by many classes of people to transfer their heteronormative thoughts of kind of form of message to convey their needed selfish agendas, political content. If im not wrong, artworks being display in larger art institution often portray their political agendas or  formation rather than bringing out the extra sublime social issues and cardio-driving desires. Art is not normal as we perceived it in life, it contains personification of others or significant values to evolve within and to be shared. Abnormality is also not common to be seen in artworks and able to decipher back to society on human existence. Art should be viewed as tool to shift to eye of culture. The language is seen to be alter-ego to something, or somebody to persuade or negotiate between art works and viewers. It can get as much readings or understanding from both parties to collide into wonderful journey of expression. I don’t think it will be a pressure for non-artsy type of people, as they may have enjoyed much a lot of looking at art, art is entertainment in some ways, but they will enriched by the fact perspective in culture has widened for them to live, not just the luxury ideas of art being patron and also art become larger sense of hope and voice for institution to pay attention to, developed argumentative dialogues. My personal quote for this is seeing in art is important, seeing becomes interesting when the conventional element is not blindfolded or overly exploited.
